Translator for the Carolinas

Working in the Carolinas has shown me one significant challenge over the past few days. Some of the words that people use around here are quit different. Here are some examples and their translation for us normal people:
1. Mash the button. - Push the button.
2. Cut it. - Turn something off.
3. I won't be ugly tomorrow. - I won't be bad tomorrow.
4. Tobagon - In Canada, this is a big wooden sled, here it is something that you wear on your head. I kid you not. When they told me this the other night at church, I thought that I would die from laughter. What they were talking about was either a ski mask or a beanie. I just could not believe that they would use the word tobagon.

As I hear more things, I will make sure to write them down and make sure to post them on the web. I am sure that we can all get a kick out of some southern talk.
