November

Here are the little cheerleaders during a break in the game. The kids have so much fun on Saturday's.

During the pregame activities, they announce all the teams and cheerleaders. My neighbor kid, Cooper, plays on the last team that is announced.

Here is Cooper going down for a shot. They are not that picky with rules during the little kids games, but they are trying to teach them.

Labor Day Weekend

Last week we had a number of days with rain, which was great for the grass, but not for the pool. I had the cover on it and water kept filling up on the top. I went to church with the plan to get the water off when I came home. During church, we had another heavy rain storm, with me making the comment, this is going to make my pool collapse. Guess what I saw when I got home, the pool had collapsed. Instead of filling it back up for only a couple more weeks, we decided to just take it down for the season.

Andrew, Lisa and the kids came up (on their way back from Florida) for Labor Day weekend. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Normal Days of our Lives

I can't remember if I posted pictures about one of my trees getting struck my lightening and falling or not, but this is the result. I was able to get some guys from church to come and cut the tree down and a few more. The crazy thing about it was that it stormed that night too and they still worked out in the storm. After the rain stopped mom, Amy (my neighbor) and myself worked on taking the scrub up to the street for pick up. This was the day before the opening ceremonies of the Olympics, so we did some crazy things. Such as, doing a relay, carrying the torch and even a bridal bouquet. It really opened up the space in the back yard and I very happy. I do not understand why the guys thought they needed to help, I could have handled a chain saw right???

While the trees were coming down, Dad and David fixed the screen that was taken down by Lauren. No I can barbecue without being eaten alive by the bugs.

This is what I got today when I showed up at one of my kids houses. My schedule is changing as of next week because of the new center opening. I will be there five days a week, so I had to give up all my outreach kids. Bryce happens to be my favorite kid to see, especially since I see him two times a week.

This is a wonderful family to work with, they do everything that I ask, and I know that when I leave, mom continues to work on his goals. They even gave me these delicious cookies for my birthday.

Not Enough Hours in a Day

Okay, so the pictures did not load right, so the weekends are all mixed up. So allow me to explain what you are seeing.

This is the table where General Lee surrender to General Grant. This house was chosen because they were the wealthiest in the area.

This is the end of the stagecoach line and also where the final salute took place. The story is that the confederate arms, after surrendering, the began their long walk home. As they passed by the Union army, the soldiers stood and saluted the confederates as they passed. The Confederate soldiers then stopped and saluted the Union armies.

After a long day, Justin and I were exhausted.

The weekend prior, we went to Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina.

Back to Appomattox, Josh that it would be good to shoot us down.

Here is the beginning to the stage coach road. I just love the fence line.

Here is the outside of the McLean House, where the surrender was.

So that has been my last few crazy weekends. Sorry that the pictures are all messed up. On other news, I heard from the furniture company, after I kept calling them, and they are replacing my bed. They told me that it was being shipped from California, so now I just have to wait for them to call me to deliver again.

A Night To Remember

So last night, we went up to Winston Salem to enjoy the Cathedral's Reunion Concert "A Night to Remember." It was really good, but sad because of George, Glen and Roger not being there. There was lots of joking around and they made the night enjoyable.

Legacy Five came out and sang Jesus Saves, which of course was good.

This is where lots of laughs happened. Watch Gerald Wolfe, who is singing bass, and Glenn Dustin who is sitting down. It was obviously staged, but they acted like no one knew this song.

They finished off the night with singing Champion of Love, which is always everyones favorite.

A Dream to A Nightmare

So my bedroom furniture finally arrived today. It looks absolutely beautiful and I love it.

Mom talked me into getting the dresser, which I did not think I needed, but now I really do. The big empty wall would look really good with a flat screen televisions, if anyone wants to contribute to the tv fund. Just joking. And then the nightmare began.
I was check over the bed (before the deliver left) and noticed this crack. I ran to go get the delivery truck, but they left. I immediately called the store where I bought it and they told me to call the corporate office. The manager there told me to take pictures and to send them by email for them to determine whether it was manufacturer error or delivery error.

With this picture, you can really see that the manufacturer made the error, because they had tried to cover it up with the wood marker. It is a little obvious.
Plus there was a chuck of wood out at the bottom of the foot board.
So, in the end, I sit here with a crazy broken bed and now have to wait for some news. Only my bad luck.

One More Day Gone

So last night we decided to end the day with sparklers. As you can see, Christy was not to keen on the idea initially.

Running up and down the drive ended up being fun with the sparklers.
Lauren thought that she should be able to sleep in Josh's bed for the night.
During the day, we went to the peach orchard and we got to see some goats.

Finishing off desert. You can see the Fehrman in each kids with how they finish off the ice cream.

Mikki has had a long weekend and ready for a break.

Pool Time

Here are some pictures from throughout the day with the kids at my house for the weekend.

Today, we have to work in the morning and then we will be enjoying the pool again. It has been much cooler, only in the 90's the past few days, so we are getting more done.

Just Another Crazy Saturday

So the last few days here have been hot and it is not supposed to get any better. This morning we did a 5K race and by the time we finished at 9:45 it was 92 degrees outside. So when any sane person would have gone inside and worked inside, I decided to work outside. First I mowed my weeds again, thinking I could put down weed and feed. But nope, you can't when it is really hot. I now understand why grandpa only made the guys work outside and not the princess of the family.
For most of the day, this was the temperature outside. It stayed over 100 for around 5 hours. And right now, though the sun is down and it is 9:30 p.m. it is still 90 degrees outside. I thought that I moved from Florida to get away from the heat. The worst part is that it is only June and things can only get hotter. We are supposed to stay at or over 100 for the next 3 days. Not fun.

So here is the pool that I decided to get. First we had to make sure that they ground was level. I called my uncle for some suggestions and went to work. We had to take a few breaks due to almost passing out from the heat, which added some excitement. We got it so it looked almost level enough for the pool. You probably cannot see it, but by this time I was drinking my water out of a 4 cup measuring cup, which was filled with ice and water. It was hot.

Here is the next stage of filling up the pool, which was when we realized that we did not have the ground level enough.

Getting closer and much more noticeable about the unevenness of the ground.

Pool is now filled and bedded down for the night. The pool will stay uneven for this summer. Maybe by next year I can figure out how to properly make the ground level for the pool to sit right. At least when it is not 102 degrees outside. I finish this post completely exhausted and sun burnt and ready for bed.

This is a movie clip from the Sandhills Children Center (my job) pre-kindergarten graduation. The program is 50=50 for normal developing children and development delay children. They had been practicing this song for weeks now, it was starting to drive a person crazy hearing it 20 times a day in 4 different classrooms. So please enjoy my kids.

Memorial Day Weekend

So this weekend, we got to go to Salisbury, North Carolina to see the Addisons, who were up for a wedding. On our trip over, we decided to go shopping in High Point. High Point is the furniture capital of the world and it was amazing to see so many stores. As we were looking around, I saw this beautiful bedroom set, and thought that I needed to have it. So I did buy it. This is the floor model, and mine will be shipped within the next couple of weeks. I am so excited about it.

We then went on to Thomasville, NC to see the biggest chair. We were driving into town and I made the comment, "I wonder were it is?" And looked up and there it was.

On Saturday evening, I got to spend time with some great friends, Talena and Talisha. These were my first friends when we moved to Florida. This was also a make up visit, because when I drove across the country and stopped in Idaho, I was the town next to Talisha's and will never live it down that I did not call.

As we sat down for dessert, out waiter came over to take our order. It was a guy that was in my high school class back in Florida. We all had a good laugh for the chance of us going to the restaurant that he works at and having him for a waiter.

There is still more to the holiday weekend, but I plan on sleeping, sleeping and more sleeping before the next work week starts.
